Volunteering at the World Beach Football European Tournament

Between May 9th-12th at Complex Esportiu Salou, 52 of our ESO and BAT students were volunteers at the World Beach Football European Tournament where the best national teams were competing to qualify for the World Beach Games in San Diego in October. This was organized by the International Olympic Committees FIFA and World Beach Soccer, a prestigious and high level international event. Our students were flag bearers for the ceremonies, ballboys and girls, helped translate announcements, delivered match reports and documentation to referees and FIFA administrators, made a promotional video, had a tour of the TV outside broadcast facilities and the offices of the international organization, plus much more.

Thanks to the students who worked from 9am until 8pm each day, including Saturday and Sunday - volunteering is an important community activity event and is a pillar of the Escola International del Camp.

For information, 52 EIC volunteers provided 820 hours of support with 13 languages available. Russia won the men's tournament and England won the women's tournament with Russia, Spain, Italy and Switzerland qualifying for the men's finals and England and Spain for the women's finals.
