Financial Education

The EIC is part of EFEC (Financial Education in Schools of Catalonia) coordinated by the Institute of Financial Studies, driven by IEF and the Department of the Vice Presidency of Economy and Finance and the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Catalan Tax Agency.

This School Year 16/17 our ESO 4 students are covering basic personal financial education through the EFEC programme. This programme of financial education is in the recommendations of international organisations (OECD) in order to provide citizens with better skills to manage their savings. This fifth edition of the programme consists of six workshops (one hour each) of basic and practical financial training carried out by volunteer professionals from banking and finance. The ESO 4 students of EIC begin this programme with the 1st workshop "Managing your Money" on Wednesday 14th  December with the objective to familiarise ourselves with personal money management. This programme is promoted by the Department of the Vice Presidency of Economy and Finance and the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Catalan Tax Agency. We are proud of the first results and convinced that this initiative is an extension and added value in training and academic-professional guidance for our students.
